One 5-mile loop through Bear Creek Lake Park, featuring packed dirt trails, singletrack and a few surprises along the way!

View the Interactive 5 Mile Course Map

10 Mile Course

Two laps of the 5-mile course. You'll pass through the start/finish expo area between laps, where you'll have access to water and restrooms before heading out for round two.

Both distances use the same trail system.

🌲 Trail Terrain & Conditions

Approximately 99% of the course is on trails, much of it singletrack. Expect:

  • Packed dirt trails with occasional rocks and roots

  • Narrow sections where passing may be limited

  • A few short paved sections at bridges or road crossings

  • An optional water crossing, with signs directing runners either through the water or along the alternate route

Trail conditions can change with the weather, so come prepared for uneven surfaces and a true trail-running experience!

🌊 Water Crossing & Trail Safety

The course includes an optional water crossing. Watch for course signs indicating where you can travel through the water or use the alternate route.

There is no lifeguard on duty at the crossing.

Please use good judgment, pay attention to trail conditions and choose the route that feels appropriate for your abilities and comfort level.

💧 Aid Stations & Hydration

5 Mile: One staffed aid station at approximately mile 2.5, offering snacks, water and sports drink in cups. There are also water jugs at this station where you can refill your own handheld bottle.

10 Mile: Two staffed aid stations, at approximately miles 2.5 and 7.5. You'll also pass through the expo area between laps, with additional access to water.

We encourage all runners to carry their own hydration, especially if you anticipate spending more time on the trails.

🚻 Restrooms

Restrooms are available at the start/finish expo area.

There are also park-installed pit toilets near mile 2 of the course. These require a short detour off the marked route.

For 10-mile participants, restroom access is available near miles 2, 5 and 7.

⏱️ Course Cutoffs

10 Mile — Second-Lap Cutoff

10-mile runners must complete their first 5-mile lap by 10:20 AM to continue onto the second lap.

Anyone arriving after that cutoff will be directed to finish at the 5-mile distance instead.

Please plan your pace accordingly!

🐕 Dogs & Strollers

We love your four-legged friends and little cheering squads!

Dogs and strollers are welcome in the park and at the finish-line area, but the narrow singletrack trails are not suitable for either during the race.

Bring a friend or family member to enjoy the park with them while you run. They'll be waiting to cheer you across the finish line!
